Poetry vs. long-form writing

On pairing form and intention.

Long-form writing speaks primarily to our rational, logical self.

Poetry speaks to our deeper, emotional self. It attempts to capture what would take volumes of books to say. It points to ideas language can’t capture.

If you want to educate someone, write a book.

If you want to move someone, write a poem.
